Understanding Your Lungs

The primary function of your lungs is to provide oxygen to your body. When you’re having trouble breathing, spirometry testing at Ahmed Family Practice can help determine why. We use spirometry testing in Metro Atlanta to understand the way air enters and leaves your lungs to pinpoint lung conditions.

What to Expect

Consultation

Your provider will ask about your medical history and symptoms before beginning your test. It’s our responsibility to ensure that spirometry testing is the right choice.

Exam

We sit you down in the exam room and place a clip to close your nostrils. Your provider will have you breathe in and out of a tube attached to a machine.

Results

Once you complete the test, your results will be ready in 5 to 10 minutes. Your provider will analyze these results and explain them to you in a way that you can understand.
